Slovak Language and Literature

The graduate possesses theoretical knowledge of Slovak linguistics and interdisciplinary knowledge that has been formed within the world linguistics. Based on the methodological concepts of linguistic schools, he/she is able to create a scientific text with original complex ideas. He/she is familiar with scientific methods from the decisive areas of world and Slovak literary science, and is able to choose from them productively. He/she is able to link them and further develop the chosen relevant approaches independently. Possesses an extensive knowledge base in selected areas of literary Slovak studies and related philological sciences. He studies Slovak literature in the context of its relevant transnational inter-literary relations. He or she is able to plan and solve scientific projects, formulate their conclusions and report on the facts presented at national and international level, and is therefore qualified for professions that require a high level of professional work with Slovak language and literature (university assistant professor, linguist or historian, critic and art theoretician).
