Management

Master's studies at the Faculty of Management of Charles University are intended for students who have obtained a bachelor's degree and have been admitted to a master's degree. It is completed by a state examination, which includes the defence of the diploma thesis.
The Faculty of Management has received the approval of the Ministry of Education of the Slovak Republic to open the following study programmes at the master's degree level:
- management in the field of economics and management,
- strategy and entrepreneurship in the field of economics and management,
- international management in the field of economics and management.
- international management in the field of economics and management.
- international management in the field of economics and management.
- international management in the field of economics and management.
- international management in the field of economics and management.

The total scope of teaching of the Master's degree is a minimum of 120 ECTS credits.
In the management study programme, students choose a block of compulsory elective courses and acquire in-depth knowledge of individual areas of management.

Within the management study programme, students choose a specialisation, which consists of a block of compulsory elective courses, and can thus acquire deeper knowledge in one of the areas of management and thus better prepare for the requirements of management practice. In the management study programme in the study field of Economics and Management, by choosing a specialisation, students focus on one functional area of management and many subjects are therefore oriented to the selected block of study: applied digital management; data analytics in management; digital marketing; financial analysis of investments; financial management; human resources management; marketing; entrepreneurship; strategic management.
Successful graduates of the master's degree programme are awarded the academic title of Master ("Mgr.") by Comenius University. Upon completion of the Master's degree, graduates may take the rigorosum examination and, after passing it, the Comenius University will award them the degree of Doctor of Philosophy ("PhDr.") or continue their studies at the third, doctoral level.

Additional information

Each applicant may submit only one application for full-time Master's studies in the Slovak language, in which he/she indicates which study programmes he/she is interested in, in the order of their importance. Applicants must fulfil the admission requirements specified for the study programme. Applicants who indicate two study programmes on their application form must fulfil the conditions for both study programmes for which they have applied. These results will be recalculated according to the admission criteria for that programme of study. If an applicant fulfils the admission requirements for both programmes of study, he or she will be admitted to the programme of study that was ranked 1st on the application form.

An applicant with specific needs who requires reasonable adjustments and support services for the entrance examination shall send, together with the application for studies, a request for adaptation of the form of the entrance examination specifying the required adjustments and support services, accompanied by the relevant professional documentation. The consent of the person concerned to the processing of the personal data contained in the application form shall form an integral part of the application form of the applicant with special needs.

General information on the admission exam

Graduates of bachelor (or comprehensive university - Mgr., Ing.) studies who do not meet the admission requirements without entrance examinations and have applied for the study programme Management in the field of economics and management will pass the entrance examination.

Applicants who do not meet the admission requirements without an entrance examination will take an oral examination in Slovak and English before the Board (interview on professional topics in economics, finance, management, business and marketing, the Board also taking into account the documents sent in the CV and motivation letter). The oral examinations will be conducted by videoconference call before the Board (which is considered to be the subject of the admission examination) on the dates announced after the closing date for applications.
